Welcome to Curtis! We are so excited to welcome you to our school! We hope this website provides essential information to ease your student's transition to Allen ISD.

Course Selection Tips
Curtis has three types of core classes: On Level, Advanced, and GT
Use the links above to read and watch about each class we offer at Curtis
Advanced Classes- English, history, and science are self-select. Students do not have to qualify in order to enroll; they can choose to enroll.
Math 7 Advanced
- Students are required to meet district qualification criteria. In order to enroll your student in advanced math 7, we need at least two of the following documents:
- 5th-grade STAAR Masters
- 6th- grade math first-semester and/or second-semester grade greater than or equal to 90%
- 6th grade MAP middle of year (MOY) exam Masters
- 6th STAAR Masters and/or EOY MAP Masters
Algebra I Advanced
- Students are required to meet district qualification criteria. In order to enroll your student in Algebra 1, we need the following documents:
- 7th grade report card showing final math grade
- 7th grade math course description
- 7th grade STAAR scores
-8th grade schedule from previous school showing Algebra 1 or letter/email from previous district saying they were going to be placed in Algebra 1
Geometry Advanced
- Students are required to meet district qualification criteria. In order to enroll your student in Geometry, we need the following documents:
-Algebra 1 EOC scores showing they passed
-7th grade report card showing final math grade for Algebra 1
GT - Gifted and Talented
1. If your child was previously identified as GT in their old district, we need all the test results that determined they were GT and a letter/email stating they are identified gifted in their previous district. Once we receive these documents, we send it to the district and they determine qualification.
2. If your child was NOT identified GT in their previous district or they do not qualify in Allen, please visit the advanced academics webpage on the Allen ISD website: https://www.allenisd.org/page/advanced-academics

School Supply List. Teachers may also ask students to have certain supplies based on the course.
Orientation
Please click the Cougar Camp tab on this website to read about the orientation we offer our new students and to register to attend. This is a student-only event. There is also a Parent Cougar Camp available in the evening.
Meet the Teacher
Please plan to attend this event to tour the building and meet your new teachers. It is Monday, August 5th. 8th grade 3:00-5:00 PM. 7th grade 5:30-7:30 PM. Parents and students are invited to attend this event.
