Thirty-two Allen ISD middle-school students won places on three TMEA Region 25 choirs against 536 students competing for 183 spots from 10 districts across North Texas.
The Regional Choir members are:
Curtis Middle School – Arshia Bajaj, Leo Calvert, Alina Charania, Jaeda Lindstrom, Seth Lofgren, Lydia Mathews, Elliot Maygren, Anvia Oommen, Logan Potter, Nathaniel Rogers, Jackson Sharp, Nadia Sherman, Will Singhakam, Ishika Vasal, and Olivia Weimer.
Ereckson Middle School – Eli Cramer, Swarit Daulatani, Fiona Humphrey, Kalli Keney, Inchara Kere, Ramsey Kirkhart, Rahul Mukherjee, Shruti Poonam, Swetha Pulapaka, Everleigh Ramsey, Carter Reed, Juliette Reeves, Claire Rogers, and Nathan Schwab.
Ford Middle School – Grace Hughes, Elaine Lu, and Madilynn Simpson.
The April auditions included students from Anna ISD, Celina ISD, Denison ISD, Lovejoy ISD, Melissa ISD, Plano ISD, Princeton ISD, Prosper ISD, Sherman ISD, and Wylie ISD competing. The students performed a series of prepared musical excerpts and sight-reading music before a panel of judges.
All of these ensembles will rehearse with a guest conductor on Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22, in the Lowery Freshman Center and perform a concert for family and friends at 3 p.m. Saturday to conclude their all-region experience. The performance is free and open to the public.
